Welcome to the Division of Transplantation Surgery
The Division of Transplantation at the University of Florida provides surgical care in the complex areas of abdominal organ (kidney, liver and pancreas) transplantation, both for children and adults.
Our excellent success rates are only one of the reasons patients come to Shands at UF for transplantation. Another is our reputation for providing highly personalized patient care and for educating patients, families, case managers and referring physicians about follow-up care, which is crucial to the survival of the transplanted organs. These qualities draw transplant patients from throughout the Southeast. We also are a Center of Excellence.
**We have voluntarily and temporarily inactivated our pancreas transplant program as we recruit additional faculty to fill the team. Our heart, lung, liver and kidney transplant programs are unaffected by this temporary change and remain fully operational. PLEASE NOTE: We will continue providing care for post-transplant pancreas patients.**
